Health Benefits of Spotted Bananas
Minimum purchase is 1 full box of bananas.
Warning: Do not throw out those old bananas.
Sadly the amazing health benefits of eating black-spotted bananas are often overlooked in favour of cleaner looking skins.
This is a major oversight for many people, especially those with low White Blood Cell counts.
Older Bananas are perhaps one of nature's most under-rated fruits.
Recent scientific research has concluded that when the banana has darker "age" spots it produce a substance called TNF - Tumor Necrosis Factor. This means that "dark-spotted bananas" help enhances our immune system's ability to fight against tumor cells.
TNF apparently has the capability to fight cancerous cells.
TNF assists in the communication between cells in the immune system and guides their movement towards the infected cells and helps in arresting the expansion of the abnormal cells by causing cell death, or apoptosis.
Bananas are well known for their antioxidants, the TNF in collaboration with antioxidants boosts the immune system and also increases the white blood cells.
The antioxidants also annihilate free radicals that form cancerous cells.

Anyway
Even if you do not believe this info, you can always pop the older bananas in the fridge so that when the kids come home, especially in Summer, they will have something cold and nutritious to eat.
PRE-Biotic
Bananas are also a Pre-Biotic which means that bacteria feed on the bananas.
So if you have yoghurt, kefir, probiotics or some kind of kombucha in the morning, you can enhance the probiotic benefits by eating a banana first.
The older the banana, the greater the benefits to the probiotic bacteria.
